We host activities that raise awareness of societal problems, encourage philanthropy and organize community service activities. AMB’s philosophy, I CREATE (see Governance, Commitments and Engagement Section 4.8), extends to how we interface with society in our business activities. We strive to communicate effectively and to work collaboratively–internally as well as with external stakeholders–to ensure the highest levels of conduct and accountability.
AMB’s governance standards and conduct are implemented at the highest levels through transparent governance and management principles (see Governance, Commitments and Engagement Section 4.8). AMB maintains strict accountability and oversight of its business activities. AMB also uses external auditors to verify financial performance and ensure transparency. Annual customer reviews reflect their perception of AMB.
One of the unique aspects of AMB’s philanthropic and community involvement efforts is that it is 100% employee-driven, while supported by AMB.

AMB’s Charitable Activities Committee (the “CAC”) was formed to make a difference in the lives of residents in communities where AMB has a presence. In 2008, AMB Property Corporation donated more than $360,000 to charitable organizations, including a donation of $100,000 to the Red Cross of China to help provide relief in the aftermath of the earthquakes in northern China. In addition, AMB employees donated their own time and money to support organizations, including the Muscular Dystrophy Association; American Cancer Society; Northern Light School in Oakland, Calif.; American Heart Association; and the Children’s Hospital & Research Center in Oakland, as well as many others. Many additional hours of community service were also invested in philanthropy projects, company-sponsored activities and public events, including Family House, Red Cross blood drives, San Francisco Firefighters’ Toy Program, and Charles River Cleanup in Boston.
